My Electronic Press Kit (EPK)
What does an old ‘roadie’ * do when he’s had enough of touring around the world? Start making electronic music for the dance floor, of course!
Well, that’s what I’ve done. My name is Andy, and this is my electronic press kit (‘EPK’). As the opening sentence suggests, I was a professional concert tour manager and live sound engineer for 25 years. I fell into the job as a by-product of being a musician. I spent my teenage years in bands, having a great time and not achieving success (whatever ‘success’ means). I did develop skills though, and when the opportunity arose, I was able to use those skills to help other music artists and DJ’s with their live shows. I then spent a quarter of a century touring the planet with a variety of touring acts and I never lost my enthusiasm for music or the urge to create my own music again.
The pandemic stopped me touring. While trying to fill the lock down hours by watching YouTube videos, I became inspired by the messages of Gary Vaynerchuck. His videos contain a simple call to action – ‘just do it’. I was umming and arring about making music again – Gary’s speeches persuaded me to start.
It was easy for me to decide what I was going to create.I have always loved dance music, I love dancing, and I used to make electronic music back in the day. I had to do some learning (new technology, new business models, new lingo) which was useful and fun, and I am now making music most of the time. My music is all over the internet – please check out my Linktree to see where you can listen (and watch):
