What’s going on? Community

I have created an online community space at https://portal.andyrraymusic.com

The main idea of the community is a place to hear, and download, my music. So, if you are a DJ, you can quickly find some new tracks to include in your set. I have added quite a few tunes already and will be uploading more stuff regularly. There is no charge for downloading my music from the community portal (trying not to use the fr*e word!)

The other feature of the space is that you can upload your own music, and comment on my, and others, music. (You can also upload video, poetry, Ableton project files – whatever you want to share).

I was inspired in part by an article I read in Electronic Sound magazine https://www.electronicsound.co.uk/ (which I recommend for many reasons). The article is about the Glasgow Library of Synthesized Sound (GLOSS). One of the founders, Lewis Cook, explains, “electronic music, can sometimes feel a bit of a solitary affair. It can often lead to people sitting on hard drives full of finished and half-finished tracks. It’s the antithesis of the social purpose of music”. I agree with this sentiment and so I’m sharing here.

This project has just started and I am sure there are things to sort out and think about. Please join up and have a poke around, even if its just to get hold of some of my tunes.
